Hardwood flooring to be feature of park lodges

Hardwood flooring is to be installed in lodges for people staying in one of the most famous national parks in the US.

The western lodges in Zion National Park in Utah will be closed over the winter season so that they can have hardwood flooring fitted, Big Sky Weekly reports.

Such surfaces will be fitted during the period between January and March, with new furnishings also being added.

The news provider noted that many people like to stay in the lodges in the winter season, when they can still view some of the wildlife and are said to be more likely to spot some creatures, such as wolves, while also being able to enjoy hiking and cross-country skiing.

Those who stay in a lodge with hardwood flooring may appreciate its insulating qualities.

Such a feature of the material was noted recently by home improvement service Ratedpeople.com, which stated that it is a warmer material than some others "because of small air pockets within the wood itself".
