Hybrid floor design unveiled
At the Surfaces 2011 exhibition the latest laminate and hardwood hybrid was unveiled by Quick-Step, which combines the best attributes of laminates and hardwood floors.
The new product is called Decorwood and it was introduced to the public for the first time in the Las Vegas exhibition at the end of January.
The combination of the two products results in more realistic looking wood flooring as Quick-Step is utilising brand new technology which allows the colour to be fused directly to the wooden substrate.
This direct printing process which is used means that the product has a more authentic and realistic appearance than most laminate flooring types.
Each plank of this flooring will then be finished with the same coating which is used on genuine hardwood floors.
This new floor product looks like solid wood flooring but with the advantage of easy installation, like laminate floors.
Senior Vice President of Marketing at Unilin, Roger Farabee, said: “Quick-Step is widely known for our leadership in using innovative technology to achieve exceptional visuals, at a price attractive to the majority of customers.”
