During the nine months since March 20th 2009, the country's industry has seen 5,500 tonnes of the products exported, worth a total of $340 million (£208 million), according to the Mehr News Agency, the Tehran Times reports.
The figure represents a nine per cent rise on the previous nine month's total of $311 million.
Such figures follow a recorded rise of seven per cent over the first eight months of the year.
During this time, the total amount of exported carpet stood at 4,600 tonnes, which represents a value of $291 million.
The report described carpet-making as an "essential part of Persian art and culture".
It stated that 1.2 million people are involved in the industry in the country.
Last week, Bernama news agency noted that Iran was one of the biggest exporters of carpets to Germany, although India leads the way with over half of the share of this market.
