Laminate flooring a feature of drop-in centre
20th April 2010
The All Saints' Centre, named after the church of the same name, has been celebrating after a successful fundraising campaign to raise the £13,000 needed to secure its future after a rise in its rental costs, the Norfolk Advertiser reports.
Help in the upkeep of the facility - which costs £1,000 a week to run - has come from the city's John Lewis store, which has fitted a new laminate floor in the centre, as well as providing new rugs.
The centre offers low-cost food and hospitality for people who have very little, who can come and stay as long as they like.
Another charity-linked project to install laminate flooring is about to take place in New Orleans as the city continues to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
Earlier this month, Minnesota-based flooring expert Jim Thibodeau spoke to the Foster's Daily Democrat about his excitement at being involved in a church-based mission to help lay laminate flooring in homes in the city.
