Laminate flooring has been mentioned as an option for those looking to renovate their homes but keep down the costs.

Naoimh Tuohy wrote for Herald.ie that the material "has come on in leaps and bounds" in recent years and noted that there is a wide variety of styles that people can choose from.

Furthermore, she claimed that laminate flooring is "great for wear and tear", a point also made recently by Dave Talbot in a piece for Article Maniac.

He commented: "One of the reasons that laminate is a popular choice lies in the durable construction of this robust material."

Ms Tuohy made her remarks as she explained how it is possible to splash out on home design without having to spend a fortune.

However, while she did exhort the virtues of laminate flooring as a cheap option, she said that for those who can afford it, wood flooring is the best.
