Laminate flooring 'best for home offices'
22nd December 2009
Designer Kelly Porter of the Washington Post included it in a series of tips published in the St Petersburg Times.
Having "glossy, wide planks" is a way to make the room look "larger and more urban", according to the expert.
Her advice came alongside other tips such as having white furnishings, which "gives the eye a place to rest", while still having orange items around to brighten the place up.
Large bulletin boards and a picture ledge low enough to be reached while sat at the desk were among other ideas she suggested.
Ms Porter has not been the only expert this week to suggest laminate flooring is the best material for a home office.
Editor of Fresh Home Magazine Neil Wertheimer advised readers of US paper the News Observer that laminate's durability and low cost make it a good option for a room in which furnishings can cause many dents and scratches to floors.
