Laminate flooring part of downsized home
23rd November 2009
Charles and Sondra Tucker moved from South Carolina to Charlestown near Baltimore, Maryland and set about making a number of changes, of which the installation of laminate flooring was one measure.
The couple also had ceramic floor tiles placed in the bathroom, as well as customised features such as blinds for the patio door and shutters for the windows.
Discussing the move - which saw the couple sell their old home in just a day and rent a camper van before taking residence in the new abode - Mrs Tucker said: "We're adventurous people; we liked moving [and] we were starting a new chapter."
One place in the US that is enjoying the benefits of updated laminate flooring is a bookstore at Montclair University.
The new floor was installed during the autumn trading lull for $35,000 (£21,000), the Montclarion reported last week.
