Laminate flooring tipped for growth
The worldwide market for laminate flooring will grow substantially as the world economy recovers, it has been stated.

A study by companiesandmarkets.com concluded: "As the market recovers poise, growth is expected to stem from cost advantages offered by laminate flooring over other flooring products."

It stated that the surface would be popular because of its various attributes, such as its stain resistance, general resilience, lower price and availability in many colours and varieties.

The report noted that new technology is enabling laminate to take on the appearance of other substances, such as ceramics, tiling and hardwood, while the emergence of glueless laminate flooring is also likely to help increase the popularity of the material.

Laminate flooring has also displayed ways of becoming more eco-friendly.

Last week, US-based Wilsonart became the first maker of the floors in the US to gain Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification, proving it sources materials from responsibly managed forests.
