Laminate flooring underlay may help keep surface even

Writing for annarbor.com, Keith Paul noted many floors of this kind have a foam backing and said if they do not, a laminate flooring underlay with the material attached is needed, noting this is the "minimum"
He added: "When installing over concrete, it is necessary to use a vapour barrier."
Mr Paul also noted the importance of allowing laminate flooring to acclimatise to the humidity levels of the room it is being laid in before it is installed, while the underfloor should be entirely level.
Those laying laminate flooring can achieve this second aim with the Pergo Foam Laminate Flooring Underlay, as it is designed to level out uneven subfloors.
It also helps fulfil Mr Paul's advice about foam, although this product does not have a moisture barrier, meaning it is best suited to wooden subfloors rather than concrete ones.
