Leisure centre gets new laminate flooring
24th November 2009
The upgraded La Hacienda Recreation Centre at Santo Domingo in Florida has undergone a six-month project to redesign its interior and manager of the Recreation Department Jim Lucas told the Villages Daily Sun that the result is an "elegant" decor.
Mr Lucas said the new wood laminate flooring provided a good contrast with copper-coloured ceiling tiles, remarking: "It's very homey and inviting."
Another material used in the centre is multicoloured carpet for the billiards room, which was described by local resident Paul Shepherd - who got a sneak preview of the building before this week's re-opening - as "gorgeous".
Another building in the US to have laminate flooring installed during a renovation is the bookstore at Montclair University.
The Montclarion noted that the $35,000 (£21,000) surface was laid down during the traditional autumnal lull in trading.
