Lino 'can be green flooring option'

Lino flooring can be a green option, it has been noted.

The real thing - as opposed to synthetic versions - is comprised of natural substances such as wood flour, rosins, ground cork, jute and linseed oil, Health News Digest reports.

It also noted that the GreenFloors.com website had discussed how lino products can also be produced by recycling old linoleum floor material.

As well as this, the natural materials and low levels of energy needed to help make it ensure that the material is virtually carbon neutral, the news provider stated, arguing that almost as much energy is created at the end of its life by incinerating it as required in its manufacture.

Laminate flooring was recently identified as gaining ground on other flooring materials when it came to its popularity.

A report by BizAcumen stated that the "cost advantages" presented by the material will help it to increase its market share in the floors sector.
