Misleading laminate sales figures

The laminate flooring industry in the US is suffering a crisis despite sales figures increasing for the second year in a row.

Although the recession continues to have an effect on the flooring industry in the US and the UK, laminate floor suppliers have found that the sales figures are actually bucking the trend.

However, while the sales figures are great news the reason behind the rising numbers is the low prices that laminate floors are now selling at.

While there is such economic instability many homeowners are choosing to update their property as cheaply as possible, which means that fashionable solid wood floors are not as popular because of the prices.

To get the same beautiful appearance as solid wood, or even ceramic tiles, then wood or tile effect laminate flooring is the cheapest flooring option available, which explains the surge in popularity.

Because of the low number of sales, suppliers have been slashing flooring prices wherever possible and laminate floor prices have dropped even lower.

This means that, in terms of the amount spent on the product, laminate flooring sales are in fact dropping as more products are sold at fractions of the original price.
