New adhesive 'will change the flooring industry'

A new adhesive developed in the US will revolutionise the flooring industry, according to the chief executive of the company behind it.

Fred Land, president of Interlock Industries, was quoted by the Chattanooga Times Free Press as saying sustainable flooring adhesive Spray-Lock could be a "game-changer" for the sector.

"It's not often you get to come along and change an industry," he remarked.

Adverts for the product feature images of Mr Land kicking floor tiles that have been stuck down with the glue to illustrate how quickly it works, while the company boasts that the spray has strong environmental credentials.

Interlock is currently seeking a Green Seal certificate, which will enable it to say that it has "truly a green product", according to legal affairs chief Tad Wintermeyer.

Spray-Lock is one of a number of innovations to come out of North America in recent months, following on from the development of new leather flooring by Canada-based Torlys, which was reported in the Calgary Herald last week.
