New flooring factory in China
Flooring manufacturer InterfaceFLOR have expanded to open a brand new factory in China.
The company have been repeatedly praised for the revolutionary work undertaken to make their floors more environmentally friendly and the new facility has been designed to further this work.
The premises itself is also particularly eco-friendly as large parts of the building and décor have been constructed from salvage materials and steps have been taken to use materials which will minimise the affect that the factory will have on the environment.
Rather than building a factory from scratch the company chose to refurbish an existing structure, all of which compliments InterfaceFLOR’s pledge for an environmentally friendly operation.
A large proportion of the workforce will be employed from the local area and the flooring which is produced will be supplied for the local market.
The new plant is in Taicang, China, and encourages visitors with a viewing centre, which allows interested parties to observe the manufacturing process as it happens.
Carpet tiles will be produced at the plant to be used in schools, offices and health and leisure facilities, and these will conform to InterfaceFLOR’s high standard of sustainable flooring.
