Pensioner in road rug incident
A pensioner has been filmed taking a huge rug home with it strapped to his mobility scooter, potentially posing a danger to road users.

The man - believed to be in his 70s - blocked the whole road as he trundled at slow speed through the town of Wincanton in Somerset.

A 39-second clip of the escapade was filmed by 20-year-old witness Gary McKenna, who was stuck in a car behind the man.

Mr McKenna, who posted the footage on YouTube, said: "I think at times traffic coming the other way could have hit him."

At one stage the pensioner stopped to allow queuing cars to pass him.

Those buying a rug from UK Flooring Direct need not worry about any such adventures when getting the product home.

Door-to-door delivery with despatch within two days comes as standard, with a next day service available most of the time, provided the order is placed by 10:00 in the morning.
