To reflect a change towards natural styles of flooring one manufacturer has produced a hardwood floor which has a more natural appearance than most others on the market.

Instead of being cut in to planks the cut of the new flooring will be dictated by its natural features, which results in wood which is wavy in shape.

A spokesperson for the company said: “It wasn’t nature that created straight floorboards: it was the limitations of technology.”

The company producing the new solid wood flooring, Bolefloor, intend to unveil their newest product at a trade show this coming weekend.

The idea is that the flooring shape will mimic that of the tree’s natural form and while no two trees are the same no flooring will be the same.

The new product will only be available in oak initially, but other species should soon be added to the range.

While many will stick with traditional linear floors there is likely to be a space in the market for this original floor style, which is marketed under the slogan ‘Life is not a straight line’.
