Positive parquet news
Parquet flooring appears to be recovering from the slump it has suffered in previous years if the sales figures for 2010 prove to be a sign of things to come.
At the DOMOTEX exhibition in January predictions looked hopeful for the wooden floors’ future and now the statistics seem to be backing this up.
The European Parquet industry hit an all time sales high in 2007, which proved to be the peak in a previously constantly increasing sale volume for the wooden floors.
Noticeable drops were recorded in 2008 and 2009 but last year’s figures are showing growth for the first time, even though it is only a small improvement.
News from the high street and even specifically this industry is proving to be a mixed bag with some signs pointing to that all important financial growth and others showing no change.
Parquet flooring is not the most common style of flooring as most people choose uniform planks or two or three strip wood floors.
This means that although parquet flooring sales have risen slightly the news can’t be seen as an improvement across the industry because it represents a smaller proportion of floors sold.
