US president Barack Obama has decided to make a statement with his new carpet at the White House, it has been noted.
The incumbent has had the inscription "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice" inscribed on the fringes of the surface, which has been tailored to suit the shape of the Oval Office.
It comes in a light, golden hue, which matches with the rest of the decor of the room, including the golden armchairs, curtains and wallpaper.
One unique feature is that it contains the eagle symbol of the office of president in the middle of the carpet.
While most people would have no reason to try to make their homes look presidential, those keen on gold carpets that may fit well with the rest of the colour scheme may find a Georgian Carpets product fits the bill.
