Price rises get results for carpet store
Drastic measures undertaken by a UK flooring firm have paid off as the company has recently announced that the revenues have risen recently.
While the recession continues to affect a number of stores across the country Victoria Carpets have actually bucked the trend and reported increased profits.
The flooring company have attributed current success rates to increased prices, in line with the rising cost of flooring materials.
A spokesperson for Victoria Carpets acknowledged that the current climate made it tough to succeed within the industry, despite what the figures say.
The company have also started working in the insurance replacement market which will increase revenue for the business as well.
It is not only within the UK that the firm have seen a rise in revenue but also the international market, which rose almost as much as the domestic sales.
It was unclear whether or not sales had actually risen but, although price hikes are unlikely to win extra custom, replacing damaged carpets would certainly have pushed these figures up.
These figures relate to the three month period from April to July 2011 and the data adds to the extremely mixed data relating to the current state of the industry.
