Progress for Chinese engineered flooring enquiry
With the Chinese engineered flooring scandal in America continuing to cause ripples across the industry a further step has been taken in the investigation.
The US International Trade Commission has been sending detailed questionnaires out to various professionals within the flooring industry.
It is hoped that these surveys will generate more detailed information about the imported engineered flooring which is currently being investigated.
The questionnaires will cover all aspects of Chinese flooring products which have been received from China, whether directly or indirectly.
Everyone who has received the survey must complete and return it by the official deadline by law as it is not optional and could result in legal action if it is not completed.
Most flooring distributors and retailers are likely to have received the forms as the ITC tries to gain the maximum amount of information before the investigation reaches a conclusion.
The more information that the commission can gather the less likely it is that mistakes will be made, like the one made as part of preliminary decisions.
The unfortunate error made earlier this summer resulted in one firm appealing against the initial findings and the preliminary duties imposed had to be amended.
