Recycling firm finds new home for laminate flooring

A recycling firm in the US has found a new way to use laminate flooring after the demolition of the building where it used to be located.

Montana-based Bugge's Construction CleanUp & Recycling specialises in cleaning out old buildings and supplying reusable materials, including giving away some items, the Flathead Beacon reports.

One such action involved giving away a used laminate floor to the local veterinary service that neuters and spays cats.

Co-founder Brandon Bugge - who runs the firm with wife Kelly - noted the need for such services in Montana after moving to the state from Oregon.

He said: "Growing up in Oregon, there's a lot more recycling than there is here," commenting that the firm's work saves on the amount of waste going into landfill sites.

Laminate flooring is also featuring in a completely new development being constructed in the state of California.

The surface is being installed in condos at the Metro Place development in the town of North York, the National Post reported this week.
