Retro rug in fashion bid
One UK retailer appears to be making a bid to bring retro styles back into fashion with a rug it is offering, it has been stated.

In a blog for Retro to Go, it was noted that Next has been producing cushions and tableware with a retro theme and observed that this is now the case with a rug it is offering via its online sales section.

The blog commented: "The green, grey and yellow colour scheme would work really well in relation to the other products we've featured or, if you want a more dramatic look, it also comes in red."

However, it noted, the material is made of acrylic rather than wool, which may disappoint those wishing to enjoy the benefits of a natural rug.

A much more retro kind of rug is that made in the traditional Persian style.

Japan's Silk Museum is to host a month-long exhibition of such products from April 23rd, Press TV reports.

Announcing the event, the Handmade Carpets Association of Japan website revealed there will also be carpets on display that are as much as 500 years old.
