Sanding 'can replenish laminate flooring'

Laminate flooring can often be refinished in order to restore fading colour, it has been observed.

According to boston.com, sanding wood laminates can allow the tone of the flooring to be evened out.

However, this is likely to be the case only if the laminate is made from real wood and is thick enough and householders were urged to contact the manufacturer before attempting to refinish it.

The portal gave the tip in response to a question about restoring laminate after a homeowner found that the area under a rug had maintained its original colour, while the rest of the flooring took on a darker shade.

"Some wood laminates can be sanded, some cannot. If it can be sanded and refinished, it is the only way to even out the colour," boston.com stated.

Last week the Epoch Times suggested that laminate flooring is a popular and durable choice for householders, as well as being one of the easiest options in terms of installation.
