Stain-proof carpeting - it is possible
Those looking for a new carpet may be concerned about the possibility of it being stained by spillages, whether of drinks, chemicals or even crayon smudges.

However, UK Flooring Direct's range of products includes some carpets that are made by Cormar from 100 per cent Excellon Propylene, a synthetic material that is highly stain-resistant.

The firm produces a wide range of such products, which are tufted cut pile twist carpets that are resistant to staining from tea, coffee, wine, ink, oil and crayon.

They come in a wide variety of colours, including different shades of brown, beige, amber, blue, green, purple, grey and pink.

Available in four metre-wide rolls, the products are suited for use in any room in the home.

By being stain-resistant, such carpets could be appropriate for rooms that are frequently used for entertaining - such as where wine may be present on occasions - or those used by young children such as a living room, as they may be more prone to drop and spill things.
