Stair carpet 'may need to be sturdy'

Responding to a query about carpeting stairways in the home, the expert at the company stated: "If the staircase is exposed to heavy traffic movements the selection has to be sturdy and resilient."
The specialist added this would be less important if the stairs see infrequent use.
Another tip was that if children are using the stairs, the carpet should be cushioned to deal with accidents, while if pets are around a scratch-resistant surface would be better.
The popularity of carpet as a flooring material in Britain may be emphasised by the popular support shown for a new carpet museum in Kidderminster.
A trust that is setting up the centre recently thanked locals for their input into the design of its logo and said there had been an "extremely positive" reaction to the creation of the museum, the Kidderminster Shuttle reported.
