Ugly flooring contest winners receive new floors
To fight back against unattractive floors an American flooring company have awarded free flooring to two winners of an ‘ugly flooring’ contest.
My Floor Trader used social networking websites to decide on a shortlist of bad floors after publicising the competition online and throughout their branches.
Anyone who considered their current flooring to be particularly unattractive was invited to send in photographs of the crimes against flooring that they hid in their homes.
The final decision was decided by a panel of judges who had to cut the five nominees down to two winners who each received $500 worth of free flooring.
The My Floor Trader Ugly Floor Contest 2011 is the first one the company have run but they were impressed by the response they received.
In fact, there should only have been one winner but the judges decided to award new flooring to two deserving homeowners.
Many people are keeping worn out or unattractive flooring in their home through fear of high costs if they replaced them but cheap flooring deals are becoming widely available.
