A joint systems maker from Middlesbrough has secured the largest order in its history to help construct a major new shopping complex in Scotland.
Genesis will supply 2,300 sq ft of movement joints for the Union Square shopping mall development in Aberdeen, the Newcastle Journal reports.
The firm won the order because it was the one supplier able to produce and deliver the items according to the construction timescale, which will see the 700,000 sq ft mall open before the end of this year.
Sales director Mike McCann remarked that the deal is "a fantastic achievement for the company".
He added: "The order is approximately 400 per cent larger than an average request for joints we receive - a staggering figure."
The Union Square development will include 60 shops and restuarants, a ten-screen cinema and a 203-bed hotel when it opens.
It is situated next to the city's train and bus stations.
