'Value floors' popular in US

21st September 2011

The continuing financial difficulties in the US have meant that flooring suppliers have had to change their marketing priorities.

Consumers are no longer looking for high-quality solid wood options, which work as fantastic investment options.

The focus now is on ‘value flooring’, which is defined as good quality flooring at a low price so there is not such a large financial outlay.

This means that the floors aren’t likely to last as long, although those from reputable suppliers will often come with a guarantee for peace of mind.

Laminate flooring is the most popular choice and this is where American flooring companies are spending their advertising money.

Particular focus is on the cheaper laminate flooring options available, many of which come with the added bonus of being made in America; thus providing a much needed boost to the US economy.

It allows the attractive style of wood flooring but without the high price which allows homeowners to carry out renovations they might have thought financially impossible.

Vinyl flooring sales are likely to be rising in this financially unsettled period but US flooring companies are focusing advertising efforts on the more glamorous laminate floor market.
