Vinyl flooring a feature of new scout HQ

Heslington Scout Group's hut was starting to look worn out before an £11,000 refit that saw the durable vinyl surface replace its worn old floor and other items installed such as double glazing and heaters, The York Press reports.
Leader of the scout group Andrew Eccles said the youngsters using the facility think it is "absolutely fantastic".
He added: "They are thrilled with their new base, especially the floor."
As well as being a durable material that can withstand the sort of heavy use a scout hut may have, vinyl flooring has also been used to restrict mould growth.
In a recent episode of US reality television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, a house that suffered from such a problem has been fitted with the material, as well as hardwood flooring, to restrict the growth of the fungus.
The measure was carried out as one of the children of the family living there has a congenital disease that the presence of mould makes worse, the Herald Bulletin reported last month.
