A coffee bar on Tyneside has been given a makeover, with vinyl flooring playing a leading role in providing the outlet with a new look.
The Boldon Community Association used a grant of £5,370 from the Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn Community Area Forum to turn the refreshments area at its clubhouse into a modern coffee bar, the Sunderland Echo reports.
Using the funds, the association replaced a worn-out old carpet with the vinyl flooring, as well as introducing new tables and chairs.
Speaking to the paper, chairman of the forum Alison Strike said the centre was clearly in need of an upgrade.
Thanks to the changes, it will now "provide a great place for people to get together and chat over a cup of coffee in comfortable surroundings," she stated.
Another renovated building using vinyl flooring is the Wetaskiwin Memorial Arts Centre in Alberta, Canada.
Foreman Rick Stasiuk told the Wetaskiwin Times Advertiser this week that the new vinyl tiles will be easier to maintain than the old floor.
