Vinyl flooring qualities help firm thrive

A vinyl flooring company has come through the recession in good health thanks to the qualities the material possesses.

Vinyl's durability has been hailed as a key reason for James Halstead of Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, achieving record results in the year to June 30th 2009, Crains Manchester Business reports.

Chief executive Mark Halstead stated that the company had done so well because the hard-wearing nature of vinyl makes it a favoured material when refurbishments are being carried out in offices, something he noticed is popular among firms during recessions.

"In these difficult times, the focus on value for money brings resilient vinyl floor coverings increasingly to the forefront of the short list of suppliers prepared by specifiers," he stated.

Other qualities possessed by vinyl include its hygienic nature as a material less likely to pick up germs than other surfaces.

For this reason, it has been chosen to replace carpets at the Queen Mary Maternity Centre in Dunedin, the Otago Daily Times reported this week.
