A major renovation has seen vinyl flooring installed in a property in the US in a bid to improve the health of its residents.
According to the Herald Bulletin, the home of the Cowan-Brown family has been rebuilt as part of the reality television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
The news source explained that 12-year-old Kori Brown has a congenital blood disease and mould in the home caused complications, while her brother, aged 16, also suffered and left the house to live with his biological father.
However, hardwood and vinyl flooring has now been installed, designed to minimise the chance of the issue returning.
The makeover also saw construction workers fix a problem with the gradient of the property, which had been contributing to the mould.
Last week, Gazette.net noted that vinyl flooring is a feature of a renovated home in the US state of Maryland, with the material present in three rooms.
