Vinyl flooring's popularity soars
Vinyl flooring has had a surge in popularity in recent years with more and more people choosing to combine practicality, durability and style for their floors.
Sheet vinyl flooring is a suitable choice for bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean when spills and stains occur and it is resistant to wear and tear.
Commercial sales director at Karndean, Paul Barratt, was unsurprised by the current popularity of vinyl flooring.
He said: “Carpet is now being replaced by aesthetically pleasing floors that deliver longevity, durability and ease of installation within budget.”
There is no need to compromise on style with vinyl floors which have undergone something of a transformation with contemporary design choices overshadowing other flooring options.
With a variety of attractive options, including wood effect and tile effect products, there is something available for anyone.
Mike Harrison, marketing manager at Tarkett, said: “Authentic wood effects can be achieved and stone effects also continue to be popular, with many different colours and styles.”
There is even plain vinyl flooring available in a wide selection of colours or neutral styles in light, medium and dark shades.
With an abundance of design options and a reputation for durability and longevity vinyl floors are causing a stir in the flooring world.
Mr Barrett explained: “While carpet, wood and stone will always have a place, the love of practicality, durability and stylish design is fast moving up the agenda.”
