Wood flooring 'saves time'

Having wood flooring in the home is a time-saving move because it prevents householders from having to carry out extensive cleaning work, it has been stated.

In an advertorial feature on the flooring choice, the North-West Evening Mail noted this particular attribute of the wood.

The paper stated that most new homes in the UK are now fitted with wooden flooring, suggesting that this looks better visually than the alternatives.

It stated: "They [wooden floors] are elegant and modern and allow a person to put their own individual stamp on their home."

The durability of such surfaces was also noted as an advantage, with the article commenting that they can "literally last a lifetime".

Last month, US-based kitchens expert Marvin Daniel was quoted by the Times Dispatch as saying that wood is now more popular than tile as a flooring material.

Describing the recent shift in tastes to the warmer material, he remarked: "You can't give anything cold away right now."
