Wooden floors 'in fashion'

In a feature on the subject written by Timberland, the North Wales Chronicle noted that this shift in tastes has been emphasised by the fact that most new homes are now being built with wooden floors.
The article stated that one reason for the popularity of wood may be that people have less time than they used to have for maintaining their floors and that as a result, consumers have been opting for the material so they can keep it clean and in good shape with less effort.
It also suggested that wooden floors are popular because they help to reflect light and do not harbour dirt and dust, which is better news for those with respiratory conditions like asthma.
Wood flooring is also a material that has remained popular down the years.
Earlier this month, it was noted by the Henley Standard that a Grade II-listed townhouse in Oxfordshire has stripped wooden floors as part of its historic features.
