Wool carpet can be one of the best ways to add some old-style Hollywood glamour to any bedroom, the Mirror has suggested.
The newspaper suggested pairing soft carpets crafted from real wool with muted colours on the walls and curtains of pure silk for true movie-star luxury.
For the carpet itself, it suggested opting for a "brave" shade such as berry, pink or nude, as these hues are not likely to date and will keep their colour for a long period of time.
Wool carpet has been hailed as an affordable flooring option by a Canadian interiors expert.
Greg Holtz told the Times Colonist that while the material used to be referred to as "rich man's carpet", it is now priced similarly to nylon-based flooring options, as the price of wool has remained relatively consistent compared with those based on petro-chemicals.
He added that wool also has the benefit of being a renewable material, making it an eco-friendly choice.
