Project Manager

Role Purpose:

Working as part of the IT Team, you will provide Project Management capabilities to help the company realise its change plans, achieve business benefits or increase efficiency and effectiveness. You will be a key member of the IT Team for planning, management, coordination, delivery and financial control of our business’s projects.

Reporting to: Senior Project Manager

Key Deliverables:

  • Leading the scoping, planning and implementation of business IT projects.
  • Defining a project’s scope and goals.
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines.
  • Coordinating project and wider business resource, staff and 3rd parties.
  • Resource planning and allocation.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Carrying out and ongoing management of project risk assessment.
  • Managing project administration, including all documentation, reports and budget documents.
  • Meeting budgetary objectives.
  • Reporting regularly to senior management.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Tracking project performance.
  • Project evaluations and results measurement.
  • Defining and improving project methodologies and tools
  • Proactively identifying and resolving business issues to help the company achieve its strategic goals
  • Working across the business to define and analyse new requirements and assess the impact on the business, operationally and technically
  • Supporting business analysts in providing business analysis throughout the whole change life cycle - requirements gathering, requirements analysis, writing functional specifications, development support and testing through to implementation and measuring business improvements
  • Recommending actions that will overcome business problems, achieve business benefits or increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Documenting new or amended business processes and assisting the business through the implementation phase
  • Supporting the business with documenting business operating procedures
  • Building and maintaining key relationships throughout the business whilst working closely with business analysts and other colleagues to deliver effective solutions
  • Working closely with the IT team and 3rd party providers to deliver technical solutions to business requirements
  • Task/project management as required to support the business change agenda
  • Handling confidential information in line with the company’s data security protocols

Key skills/attributes:


  • Recent project management and some business analysis experience working across the full business change life cycle on technical and non-technical business projects
  • Recent experience of business process re-engineering and delivering business change
  • Excellent organisation skills, to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines
  • strong interpersonal skills, to motivate and lead your project team
  • the ability to monitor and control budgets
  • good communication and negotiation skills, to manage expectations
  • the ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure
  • technical knowledge related to the project may also be required.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to think laterally to identify trends and make links between data from different sources
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a good understanding of business drivers, service standards and the role of business change in achieving strategic objectives
  • A "can do" attitude and proactive approach
  • Solutions oriented and keen to take responsibility for delivery of effective solutions
  • Understanding of Agile/Business Transformation skills (Six Sigma, Lean processes)
  • Proficient with requirements capture and diagramming tools e.g. Visio, ARRIS or other case management tools.
  • Able to use a blend of skills including analysis (technical and operational), team work, lateral thinking and communication
  • Understanding of how Business processes and/or systems can be used to improve operational efficiency
  • Able to see the bigger picture, but paying close attention to detail in designing a solution
  • Excellent organisational skills together with an ability to ensure that tasks are delivered on time and to the required standard
  • Able to work under pressure as part of a team, prioritising a heavy workload and meeting challenging deadlines
  • A collaborative approach to working with others together with the willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required
  • Understanding of e-commerce solutions (NetSuite) and business operations would be of benefit
