Mohawk supports war veterans
In order to support severely injured and disabled war veterans an American flooring company has pledged to help the project by supplying floors.
The programme is called Operation Finally Home and Mohawk Industries will donate the flooring for all of the homes which will be provided, mortgage-free, to veterans and widows of the fallen.
There are 16 homes being built and each is custom designed to accommodate the difficulties many of the troops will face on their return.
Mohawk supplies carpets, laminate, tiles and hardwood flooring and the company is famous for helping a variety of causes, including victims of the recent hurricane Irene.
The Operation Finally Home scheme was started by non-profit Bay Area Builders Association (BABA) Support Our Troops in recognition of the unique challenges faced by returning troops.
Mohawk supply flooring products to stores and retailers across the world and the firm’s experience with flooring technology means that each of the new homes will have flooring perfectly suited to the individual needs.
Many homes will require flooring and other facilities which are specifically designed to help disabled veterans but modern technologies make this easier than ever before.
