Retail Marketing Manager

Role Purpose:

To help deliver the retail proposition for the UK Flooring Direct brand. Taking a cohesive and customer centric view and working cross-functionally, to deliver best in class omni-channel customer experience.

Reporting to: Senior Marketing Manager (Retail)

Key Deliverables:

  • Help deliver the retail proposition, under the UK Flooring Direct umbrella brand, in the context of both a retail and trade offering, in support of business objectives. Develop, own and deliver strategic plans and roadmap. Provide clarity in which activities service which part of the marketing funnel, and prioritise accordingly.
  • Own, create and lead the development of a Trade Plan, including the retail marketing calendar, delivering through self and team. Define concepts, develop creatives and understand and mitigate any impact with associated activites in the retail sector of the business.
  • Work with Senior Marketing Managers to ensure all marketing campaigns are engaging, relevant and accurate to enable a seamless CX and maximise opportunity for conversion. Operate within brand guidelines and contribute ideas towards the evolution of them.
  • Working with team members, internal departments, outside agencies and vendors to develop and deliver all marketing activity – eg campaigns, product updates and launches, communications & media, new services, promotions etc.
  • Responsibly work towards a defined Marketing forecast and budget. Improve effectiveness and ROI on campaigns where required, using segmentation to introduce new methods of personalisation and prioritisation.
  • Conduct regular and timely reviews of retail marketing activity, to feed into future projects and ways of working.
  • Working with our operations, product and digital team to ensure all deployment of marketing activity is right first time and hits appropriate deadlines. Takes initiative and responsibility for driving through to completion.
  • Work closely with the Trade Marketing Managers to transform ways of working in the marketing team – building in flexibility and sustainability, with continuous improvement. Provide clarity and conviction on rationale for concepts, tactics and actions.
  • Work with Insights team to further customer understanding and use data to manage ongoing CRM programmes as part of the overall mix.
  • Keeping up to date with competitor activity and marketing trends – understand and responding to changes in landscape as appropriate.
  • Become an advocate for the retail vision and strategy both widely within the business, and with agency partners. Gain buy-in and alignment on the goals, improving tactics and actions, ensuring the overall outcome is optimised.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • A B2C marketing background with thorough knowledge of the full marketing mix – product, brand, digital, comms & content, CRM. Experience across both creative production and media buying and activation.
  • Experience in managing a Trade Planning Process preferred, but not essential.
  • Background in e-commerce and customer experience, familiar with wireframes and hierarchies of information.
  • Creative flair and ability to identify compelling propositions, with attention to quality and detail, while being able to deliver with maximum efficiency.
  • Excellent project management skills coupled with a teamwork focus and willingness to reach out to colleagues (i.e. Digital team, product marketing, sales team, developers) in support of a smooth delivery and optimized marketing effort. Key relationship holder with suppliers and agencies.
  • Analytical ability, comfortable in using data and insights to report and demonstrate ROI. Demonstrated use of econometrics or equivalent modelling to highlight ROI.
  • Adaptable and able to prioritise, balancing the changing business needs, with delivering against strategic objectives.

Measures of success:

  • Evolution of the retail campaign and communication plan to enhance customer conversion.
  • Contribute to and delivery of the 12 month retail marketing calendar.
  • Use of the Retail ‘dashboard’ to report on key metrics.
  • Feedback from retail customers.

Role Purpose:

We’re looking for an individual to support our Marketing team and the wider business as a Social Media Manager, reporting into our Marketing Director.

Reporting to: Marketing Director

Key Deliverables:

  • Defining the organic social media strategy across all key platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Pinterest, Youtube, Twitter).
  • Ensuring the strategy is fit for purpose across both the Retail and Trade elements of the business.
  • Growing the UK Flooring Direct Brand on all organic social media platforms.
  • Working with the paid media team to ensure both strategy and execution are aligned across the platforms and work together consistently.
  • Running a test and learn approach to be able to ascertain quickly what works for UK Flooring Direct in all organic social channels.
  • Developing and deploying the right influencer strategy.
  • Keeping on top of emerging new channels and technologies within all social platforms.
  • Working closely with the Brand and Content team, Planning team and Ecommerce team to implement and deliver successful organic social media strategies across the business.
  • Working with the Brand and Content team to develop engaging content for all organic channels.
  • Setting, managing and delivering all key KPI’s for organic social.
  • Day to day management of all organic social media channels including scheduling and deployments.
  • Being the Social expert and lead across all wider business projects.
  • Utilising customer insight and business learnings to inform strategies and executions.
  • Developing the processes and reporting disciplines of this newly appointed role and team
  • Working with the Brand delivery manager to develop and implement social brand guidelines, including developing the correct tone of voice through our direct customer interactions
  • Working closely with our HR team on all CSR interactions through social channels.
  • Team management

Key skills/attributes:

  • Qualification - the successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent and/or proven experience in a similar managerial role.
