Health & Safety and Facilities Manager

Role summary: We are currently seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Facilities Manager to support the business, drive a safety culture and manage facilities on our 2 operational sites. Communication and collaboration are critical within this role so being able to demonstrate this is key.

  • To provide support and guidance to ensure a safe and suitable working environment which is compliant with current health and safety legislation.
  • To drive and embed a positive safety culture and best practice at all levels of the organisation which deliver a healthy and safe working environment.
  • To define and implement appropriate procedures and working practices that ensure the business meets its legal & regulatory requirements for all buildings, equipment, tooling, and utilities supplies.
  • To maintain all company buildings and facilities in good working order.
  • To liaise with appropriate departments to set up timely and best value support from external service providers.
  • To work with the Security Controller to monitor and maintain the security of all company sites (physical).
  • To measure and report on appropriate security and facilities aspects to Senior Management in health & safety.
  • Define and implement a business wide health & safety strategy which ensures full compliance with current health & safety legislation.
  • Promote health & safety best practices to encourage continual improvement and reporting / action of 'near miss’ situations.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Extensive experience maintaining and managing health & safety within the workplace.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain health and safety processes throughout the business when needed.
  • Have a proactive attitude and have excellent organisation skills.
  • Be a competent computer user with good IT skills.
  • A team player with a collaborative approach.
  • A driving licence - essential for this role as it involves travelling between sites.

Warehouse Operative

Hinckley, Leicestershire / Coventry, Warwickshire

Role summary: As part of your role as Warehouse Operative you may be asked to deliver all or some of these tasks as part of the Warehouse function as per requirements of your line manager, to meet all department objectives in relation to personal, and team targets, KPI’s and customer satisfaction, or any other reasonable tasks/duties as required.

Additionally, you will be requested (by prior arrangement) to take part in any relevant training programs, reviews, supervisions & appraisals to increase and maintain your performance.

Key deliverables:

  • Work with the Warehouse and Operational department to maximise workflow efficiencies.
  • Ensure all outbound freight is picked & quality control checked as per processes.
  • To ensure visiting customers receive a high-quality service in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all inbound freight, including customer returns are received in accordance with processes.
  • To assist with regular stock checks, both “spot checks” and full stock audits, keeping stock control systems up to date.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • To maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards including keeping the work area clean and tidy.
  • To communicate effectively between both work colleagues and line manager.
  • Maintenance of machinery and equipment including pre-use checks.
  • To highlight any issues to your line manager.
  • Duties involve regular, repetitive, light, medium and heavy lifting.
  • Team player but able to work without supervision.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good product knowledge of UKFD stock.

Distribution Office Manager

Role summary: You will manage the Distribution Team and assist Senior Management in effectively carrying out the distribution requirements of the business. You will be accountable for the training, performance and conduct of our Team of Fulfilment Advisors You will also be a key point of contact between operations, all with the goal of delivering an excellent service to our customers, whilst being a point of escalation for delivery queries

Key deliverables:

  • Experience within a Distribution Operation, managing third party carriers.
  • Reporting on KPIs such as OTIF, and implementing suitable actions to drive performance and the customer experience, whilst being mindful of potential cost implications
  • Manage delivery standards with our carrier operations
  • Ensure all Distribution administrative tasks are carried out to agreed quality standards and by agreed SLA’s.
  • Ensure all training and recruitment requirements are completed
  • Complete colleague rotas, ensuring effective and competent cover at all operational hours
  • Be accountable for successful monitoring of deliveries and reporting any variances to the delivery plan
  • Ensure all Distribution requests have been successfully actioned
  • Ensure all available orders have been generated for Warehouse despatch in a timely, accurate manner
  • Report on Carrier Performance and ensure daily KPIs are received
  • Ensure all carriage claims have been correctly processed and report on outcomes where necessary
  • Ensure all internal KPIs are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaise and work closely with carriers to ensure all required data and instruction is provided to ensure collection vehicles arrive on time.
  • Communicate in a professional manner at all times with all departments, to all staff, customers, management and suppliers, both orally and by written means.
  • Perform analysis of processes, activities and costs when requested.
  • Control and undertake accurate filing of all documentation, by either paper files or email.
  • Assist colleagues in providing cover with other roles within the department as and when reasonably requested by your Supervisor or Manager.
  • Involve yourself with company team principles that continuously endeavour to achieve quality, improvement & high performance.
  • Ensure the protection and good care of all the Company’s assets, equipment, materials and intellectual property and that there is no misappropriation of any by the job holder.
  • Adhere to all Company policies & procedures relating to Health & Safety, Quality Control, Human Resources, and Operational guidelines etc.
  • Undertake any other duties to the benefit of the Company as reasonably requested by your Supervisor/Manager.
